The K Club Golf & Spa Resort and in particular the Palmer Course has been receiving rave reviews and plaudits from the Golfing fraternity since its inception. Indeed it has played host to the various European Tour events and more recently of course became the first ever Irish Ryder Cup Venue in 2006.
Named after the golfing legend Arnold Palmer (who was also the designer), this is no ordinary golf course, it is as magnificent, exciting and formidable as they come. Many would consider it to be Irelands most challenging parkland course and I have no reason to disagree.
Each hole from 1 to 18 has its own charm and appeal, the course it set in the lush County Kildare Countryside and makes use of the natural contours of the land, the mature trees and winding River Liffey (where rumour has it that it runs directly to and feeds the Gunniness Factory in Dublin City Centre) to produce a breathless masterpiece.
There are many different articles out there in golfing publications which will describe each of the 18 holes in graphic detail, including of course the excellent Course Guide or “Birdie Book” which has advice from Arnold Palmer himself.
I would prefer to live on the memories of the many Tour Events host at the Palmer Course at the K Club and most of all the fantastic Ryder Cup in 2006 
when Europe took on the might of the Americans in a few autumnal days in September. Imagine the scene, imagine the pressure, imagine the heroes and imagine the shots as you pit your wits against the course. Tiger drove into the lake at the clever 1st, Paul Casey aced the par 3 14th, Darren Clarke won at one of the best par 5’s in the world the 16th.
