Dundonald Links is set among the dunes of the Ayrshire coast, close to the historic golfing town of Troon. The course has a strong championship scale, yet its rumpled fairways, sandy waste areas and natural-looking bunkers give it the appearance of a far older Scottish links.
Generous landing areas offer several possible routes from the tee, although the best angle into the green is rarely the most obvious. Deep bunkers, sharp run-offs and changing winds add complexity throughout the round. Host to both the men’s and women’s Scottish Opens, Dundonald combines tournament quality with an enjoyable and distinctly traditional character.
