Welcome to the team, Gary Murphy!

Former European Tour professional to host exclusive tours across Ireland and Scotland

GreenGolfBall is delighted to welcome Gary Murphy as our Brand Ambassador, marking an exciting new chapter for GreenGolfBall.

As Brand Ambassador, Gary will help showcase the extraordinary golf experiences found throughout Ireland and Scotland, two of the world's most celebrated golfing destinations. Gary will personally host a selection of Signature Departures, giving guests the opportunity to experience Ireland's finest golf courses alongside one of the country's most respected golfing figures.

These departures are about much more than playing great golf. They're about sharing stories, discovering the history behind Ireland's legendary courses, enjoying great company and experiencing the country through the eyes of someone who has spent a lifetime immersed in the game.

Whether it's walking the fairways together, chatting over dinner after a round, or reflecting on life on tour over a pint in the clubhouse, Gary's presence adds another dimension to an already unforgettable golf holiday.

Gary Murphy – A True Student of the Game

Born and raised in Kilkenny, Gary Murphy has dedicated more than three decades to the game of golf.

After winning the Irish Amateur Close Championship in 1992, he turned professional in 1995 and went on to enjoy a successful career competing on the European Tour, Challenge Tour and Asian Tour. He earned his European Tour card through Qualifying School and made almost 300 appearances on the European Tour, recording a career-best finish of third at the 2008 Irish Open at Adare Manor. Gary also produced an impressive tied-34th finish at The Open Championship in 2003, competing against the very best players in world golf.

Today, Gary continues to compete on the Legends Tour while serving as Head Golf Professional at The K Club. Away from competitive golf, he has become one of Ireland's most recognisable and respected broadcasters, providing analysis and commentary for DP World Tour coverage and other major golf broadcasts.

Few people have experienced Irish golf from as many perspectives. As a touring professional, coach, broadcaster and lifelong student of the game, Gary has played virtually every significant course on the island and built lasting relationships throughout Irish golf. His knowledge extends far beyond the fairways, bringing the history, architecture and personalities of each destination to life.

Why This Matters

At GreenGolfBall, we've always believed that the very best golf holidays are about more than simply playing world-class courses.

They're about understanding the places you visit. Meeting the people who make Irish golf so special. Hearing the stories that don't appear in guidebooks. Sharing memorable rounds with like-minded travellers.

That philosophy is exactly why Gary is such a natural fit.

Gary combines world-class golfing experience with something equally important: a genuine warmth and enthusiasm for sharing the game. Spend a few minutes in his company and it's easy to understand why he is so highly regarded throughout Irish golf. He has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable, whether you're a scratch golfer or playing links golf for the very first time.

For guests, that means far more than travelling alongside a former tour professional.

It means hearing first-hand stories from life on tour, learning how a European Tour player approaches some of Ireland's greatest links, gaining insights into course architecture and strategy, and enjoying conversations that only someone with Gary's experience can offer.

It's exactly the type of experience we envisioned when we created Signature Departures.

Join Gary's First Signature Departure - 28th August 2027

Gary's first hosted Signature Departure takes guests on an unforgettable journey through the spectacular northwest of Ireland.

Over seven nights, guests will play six of the region's most celebrated links courses, including St Patrick's Links at Rosapenna, County Sligo, Portsalon, Narin & Portnoo, Donegal (Murvagh) and Enniscrone. Combined with premium accommodation, luxury transport and Gary's company throughout the week, it promises to be a truly unique golfing experience.

Limited to just 16 guests, this departure offers the perfect opportunity to experience Irish golf in the company of one of the game's most respected personalities while sharing the journey with a small group of like-minded travellers.

We couldn't be more excited to welcome Gary to the GreenGolfBall team, and we look forward to sharing Ireland with our guests through his knowledge, experience and passion for the game.
