Royal Cromer Golf Club

Royal Cromer occupies an elevated position on the cliffs between Cromer and Overstrand, providing sweeping views across the North Sea. Founded in 1888, the course was originally designed by Old Tom Morris, with substantial later work by J.H. Taylor and Harry Colt helping to shape the layout that exists today.

The clifftop terrain creates a distinctive form of links golf, with undulating fairways, natural slopes and exposed greens combining to produce a varied round. The elevated position means the wind can influence club selection throughout, while the ground encourages golfers to make imaginative use of slopes and running approaches. Its long history and dramatic coastal setting give Royal Cromer a character quite different from the flatter dune links further along the east coast.
